Don't do this even if you are poor. This fantasy short story was written by Yousef, one of teacher Zaki Badr's students. Do you agree or disagree with what the king did? Why did the poor man steal the money of the king? What happened next. Let's read.
A long time ago, there was a cruel king named Tom. He was rich, and he had a big kingdom and a beautiful young daughter. She loves a poor man. And this man loves the king’s daughter. He used to be a servant at the king's palace. The king does not want his daughter to love the poor man because he doesn't have enough money and is not at the same class level as them. After thinking for a long time, the poor man wants to steal the king's money and get away from the palace to find more money to marry the one he loves. This man wants to travel to another kingdom. But his mum disagrees. His mom is afraid that her only son will abandon her and never comes back because of a horrible mistake he has made: stealing the king's money. He travels and is afraid. He is looking for another job to be rich, and even more affluent than the king, and he ends up as a miner at the bottom of a gold mine. He is outraged because the work is very dull. He thinks again severely, and finally, he decides to take the gold from the mine and leave without anyone noticing him doing so. He looks for another job because he is clever; he works well, and the manager likes the poor man. But the manager does something cruel: he doesn't give enough money to the poor man to survive, thinking by doing this, the poor man will always come to work for him. The poor man is very pleased because he becomes rich after he has stolen the manager's money. And he buys the mine he worked at-- people that used to work there didn't know him because of the elegant clothes he wore and his brand new sunglasses--he looked ridiculous. He goes to the kingdom and tells the king that he wants to marry his daughter. But the king doesn’t recognize the poor man because he is rich. The king replies," I will ask my daughter and tell her you are a good man." But my daughter does not want to marry this wealthy man because she likes the poor, but the king’s daughter doesn’t know that this is the poor man. The poor man tells the king’s daughter I am the poor man, but I have a lot of money now. The king’s daughter tells her father, I agree. And the poor man promises the king I will protect your daughter. And the poor man marries the king’s daughter, and finally, everyone claps. And the poor man and the king’s daughter live in peace. After some time had passed, the king discovered that the servant, who used to work at the palace, was the rich man who had married his daughter. He says, "Guards!" All the guards come to the king, he tells them to bring the one who married my daughter; I was such a fool to believe such a thief. The king confronted the poor man, and he admitted his crime and told the king, it's your fault because you didn't care about my feelings. Yes, I am a servant but not an enslaved person. I did what I shouldn't have done because of your evil, cruel words. The king didn't like to listen to him anymore and decided to cut his head off. He ordered the guards to kill the poor man.
Don't do this even if you are poor. Never steal or do bad stuff to anyone.
